This week's Moment of Truth: Romans 5:3-5 (NIV) — “Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance, character, and character, hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.”
Comfort is the enemy of growth. And the world is selling it to you every single day.
Immediate gratification, ease, and the absence of struggle are not blessings — they are attacks on everything God plans for you as a man and as a member of the body of Christ. Every warrior knows that unless you push into the pain, there is no growth. The gym, the road, the combat zone — none of it gets easier by avoiding it.
The same is true of your faith. When did you last press into something uncomfortable for the sake of Christ? When did you last choose obedience over ease, discipline over distraction, stillness over noise?
New habits can be formed in as little as 21 days. Give God 15 to 20 minutes each day. Pray before meals. Be more gracious. Spend more time in stillness. What feels strange at first will very quickly become the most powerful way to live — and to minister to a struggling world.
Make friends with discomfort. That is where growth lives.
