This week's Moment of Truth: Proverbs 18:2 (NIV) — "Fools find no pleasure in understanding, but delight in airing their opinions."
How did Proverbs know about Facebook 2,000 years ago?
We live in a world where headlines pass for the whole story, where volume substitutes for truth, and where AI tells us what to think and we call it wisdom. And while this may be sadly true of the world — it should not be true of Christians.
Christians are not consumers of worldly garbage recycled generation after generation. Christians are humble servants who obey Jesus Christ. We are official ambassadors of His heavenly kingdom. And as ambassadors, we cannot hold opinions that conflict with what He says is good, right, and just. If we do, we are wrong.
The devil knows this. And his most effective weapon against the church is not persecution — it is opinion. Baseless, divisive, conflicting opinion that confuses the truth of God, destroys unity, and makes Christians combat ineffective.
So, whose message do you most often deliver — yours or Jesus's?
This is not a time for opinion. It is a time for unity and courage in the truth of God as written in the Bible.
