This week's Moment of Truth: 2 Corinthians 8:12 (NIV) — “For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.”

Will you let the forces of evil decide what you fight for? Will you allow negative people to determine the hope you have for the future? Or will you go down fighting — according to the truth of God?

In this week’s “Moment of Truth,” Colonel Richard J. Mendelow (Ret) takes you to Combat Outpost Delhi in Helmand Province, Afghanistan — where his team of 33 was embedded with 470 Afghan border police, training them, patrolling with them, and showing them what good change could look like. Did it take? He still doesn’t know. But that was never the point.

Faith in Jesus Christ is very similar to advising on a battlefield. Your mission is not to control outcomes. Your mission is to show up, do your best with what you have, and trust God with the rest. We sow the seeds. The Holy Spirit waters them.

So, what are you doing with what you have — right where you are?
